how to make Mutton Biryani

Biryani is the delicious complex blend of flavours, spices and aromas. It is a mouthwatering dish and it is cooked often during festivals, parties and so on...

 Now its time to cook yummy tasty biryani. So what are you waiting for, come on let's look at the recipe.


 Preparation time: 20 mins
 Cooking time        : 1 hour
 Serve                       : 4-5 persons

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1/2 kg Basmati rice 
  • 1/2 kg Mutton                        
  • 4 medium size Onions                         
  • 3 Tomatoes                    
  • 2 Green chillies            
  • 1/4 cup Curd                             
  • 1 Lemon 
  • 1 tsp Red chilli powder    
  • 2 tbsp Ginger garlic paste 
  • 3 Green Cardamom     
  • 2 Cinnamon                   
  • 4 Cloves                           
  • Salt to taste
  • 150 ml Oil                                 
  • 1 cup Mint leaves                
  • 1 cup Coriander leaves      
METHOD: 

         First, wash rice in water and soak it in clean water for 30 mins. and set aside. Don't soak for a long period of time.


                    
        Heat oil in pressure cooker and add cinnamon, cardamom and cloves
                                                                  

     Now add onions and cook till golden brown
                                                                    

         Add washed mutton and saute it                                         very well
                                                                 
  
        Then add salt and Ginger garlic paste and cook for a min.
                                                             


                 Add  red chilli powder



        Add tomatoes and cook till it turns mushy and then add mint & coriander leaves and green chillies. And cook for 1 min.


         Add curd & lemon juice and mix it well and leave it for 5 mins. on simmer mode


       Add some water and close the pressure cooker and give 4 whistle




           Side by side cook basmati rice ...first heat some water in a pot.After it gets boil add soaked rice and cook for some time not too long ...Once it done 80%  drain the water and keep aside


           Now add cooked gravy to rice and mix it well.



         keep one old tawa on the stove and keep that mixed content on top of that tawa on simmer mode for 10 mins. cover the lid of the pot with one cotton cloth and keep some weight on top of that lid to cook perfectly.


          Now yummy tasty biryani is ready to serve. Serves good with raita...
