- 1 small onion
- 4 to 5 garlic cloves
- 1 strand curry leaves
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
FOR CHANA DAL VADA
- 2 cups chana dal/ Bengal gram
- 1 large onion
- 1 strand curry leaves
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- Some coriander leaves
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep frying
How to make Dahi ki kadhi
Vada preparation
1. Soak chana dal/ Bengal gram in water for about 2-3 hours
2. After soaking grind the dal in a mixer don't make a fine paste grind up to 90%.
3. Remove the paste in a bowl
4. Add on turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt, chopped onions, curry leaves and some coriander leaves
5. Mix it well
6. Give a circle shape
FOR FRYING
Take a kadai and add oil and heat. When the oil is heated add the vada to fry. Fry on medium flame and fry till it turns a light brown colour. Remove it in a plate
FOR MAKING KADHI
Chop onion and tomato and put it in a jar to make a paste
In a kadai add curd, coconut paste, chana dal paste, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, onion &tomato paste and salt
Mix all the ingredients well and switch on the stove
Cook it on a low flame for 5-8 mins
Once it is done add fried chana dal vada
And cook in low flame for 5 mins
FOR TADKA
In a pan add some oil
Add on mustard seeds when it starts crackling add onion chopped, curry leaves and garlic cloves
Put this tadka in dahi ki kadhi
And serve hot with plain rice

Mix it in a jar and make a paste
In a kadai add curd, coconut paste, chana dal paste, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, onion&tomato paste and salt
Mix all the ingredients well and switch on the stove. Cook it in a low flame for 5-8 mins
Once it is done add fried chana dal vada. And cook in low flame for 5 mins
FOR TADKA
In a pan add some oil
Add on mustard seeds
when it starts crackling add garlic cloves
Add onions chopped
At last add curry leaves
Put this tadka in a dahi ki kadhi
Mix it once and switch off the stove
Serve hot with plain rice
