Aloo gosht ka korma/potato lamb korma

Aloo gosht ka korma /potato lamb korma is a dish with mild flavours and the combination of both mutton and potato with spices and curd gives you the perfect taste ..... 


This is my mom's recipe and last Sunday she prepared potato lamb korma and served with khuska, rotis and idiyappam(string hopper) was the best combination and it was yummy too. To know the recipe. Let's move on to the recipe.


PREPARATION TIME      :5 MINS 

COOKING TIME               : 30 MINS 

TOTAL                                : 35 MINS 

INGREDIENTS 

  • 1/2 kg mutton
  • 3 potatoes 
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste 
  • 4 medium size onions 
  • 3 tomatoes 
  • 1 cup coconut paste
  • 2 green chillies 
  • 1 1/2 tsp red chilli powder 
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder 
  • 1 small cup coriander leaves
  • 1 small cup mint leaves
  • 1 small cup curd
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 cinnamon 
  • 3 cardamom 
  • 3 cloves
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil

METHOD 


Take a cooker and heat oil. Add cinnamon, cardamom and cloves


Then add onions and saute till it turns a light pink colour 


Add mutton and saute for one minute 


Add salt & ginger garlic paste and stir well till the raw smell disappear


Next, add red chilli powder and turmeric powder and mix it well



Add green chillies 



Add tomatoes, coriander and mint leaves and saute till tomatoes get mushy



Add coconut paste (if u want u can add some cashew paste along with this to increase the flavour ) and saute for 2 mins


And finally, add potatoes cut into cubes and mix it well. Then add some water and close the lid and pressure cook it till the mutton turns tender and soft


After it is done, open the lid and add some curd and lemon (beat the curd nicely) and cook it for 5 minutes 


Potato lamb korma is ready. Serve it with roti and khuska
