Egg pudding recipe

Pudding is a sweet dish with a soft texture. It is simple to make and very delicious too. My whole family love this sweet . Let's see how to prepare egg pudding

            Egg pudding is made with eggs, bread slices (corners removed ), milk and sugar and it is served chill


PREPARATION TIME : 5 mins

COOKING TIME          : 45 mins

Additional time requires for cooling it in refrigerator


INGREDIENTS 

  • 1 ltr milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 bread slices(corners removed) 
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp sugar (for caramel) 

METHOD




In a pot take one-litre milk and boil it on a low flame


Keep stirring in between till it reduces  to half...

Add sugar and stir well and switch off the stove


On the other side, in a jar add 4 eggs and 4 bread slices(Remove the corners of the bread slice) and randomly mix it  Don't make it like a paste


Add this mixture to the milk and mix well


Switch on the stove and keep one empty pot. On low flame add some sugar to make caramel... Be careful while making th is.The caramel must be perfect... If you overburn it will taste bitter


Once the sugar reaches light brown colour switch off the stove. Coat the caramel on sides just by moving the pot on circular motion


Then add the milk and egg mixture to it


Take one big pot and add some water and keep one stand


       Above that stand keep the pot


U can cover the small pot with aluminium foil or u can cover it with some plate. Cover the lid of the big pot too.



Keep it on low flame for about 35 to 40 minutes. Do check the water level if it dries add some more water at the bottom 


Take the lid and check it with a knife. If the knife is clear then it is done. If not keep for some more time


Once it is done cool it and keep it in the refrigerator. While serving turn it out in a plate and serve chill.
