Paneer tikka on tawa

Paneer tikka is an Indian dish and it is marinated in spices and grilled in oven or tandoor. It can be taken with meals or chapatis or it can be taken as snacks. Not only in oven or tandoor it can be prepared on tawa too.

Today I'm sharing a recipe which is easy to prepare on tawa and also tastes good. So while talking about cooking on tawa, I always prefer to use non-stick tawa or pan to cook paneer because it won't be stuck on tawa... I don't say not to use normal tawa,  u can but there are a little bit chances of getting stuck on tawa. If your tawa is well greased then u can go with normal tawa.

So let's move on to the recipe paneer tikka is mixed with thick curd and lots of spices together and marinated for about 1 to 2 hours in the fridge and then cooked on tawa

PREPARATION TIME : 5 MINS

COOKING TIME.         : 15 MINS

MARINATE  FOR 1 - 2 HOURS

Ingredients for paneer tikka:

  • 200 gm paneer
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 onion
  • 1 capsicum
For marination
  • 1/4tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4tsp garam masala
  • 1/4tsp Black pepper powder
  • 1/4tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1/4tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/4tsp dry mango powder
  • 1/4tsp chaat masala
  • 4tbsp thick curd
  • 1 lime
  • 2 tsp olive or refined oil
  • Salt to taste
To prepare paneer tikka

In a bowl add ginger garlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, black pepper powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, lime, dry mango powder, chaat masala, thick curd and mix it well.

Cut paneer into small cubes, then cut onion, tomato and capsicum into small cubes mix it with the curd and spices mixture and marinate for 1 to 2 hours in the fridge

Heat the tawa and add some olive oil and keep paneer pieces one by one on tawa and fry it from all the side on medium flame

Next, I added capsicum, tomatoes and onions and fried on tawa

After frying remove it and serves it by sprinkling some chaat masala and lemon on top of it.U can skewer it or else can be taken as it is. Yummy paneer tikka is ready to eat. It can be served with mint chutney

Note: Paneer can be prepared at home and it is very easy to make paneer at home. Take 1 ltr full-fat milk and boil the milk once it starts boiling add 1 tbsp lemon or vinegar to it. The milk will start curdling...If u notice milk is not curdling fully immediately add some more lemon to it. Once it curdles fully switch off the stove and let it sit for a while and remove water using a strainer and rinse it off with cold water. And transfer it to a cheesecloth and remove excess water and hang it for abt 1/2 hour. After all, water is drained u can cut the paneer into pieces and cook it or store it in the refrigerator....
