Shami kabab recipe

Shami kabab is a dish originated from India.... And it is a popular dish in India and its neighbouring countries... Shami kabab is usually made with mutton or chicken


Here in this recipe I have used mutton, chana dal/chickpea lentils, onion, a bit of coconut piece, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, few garlic cloves and little bit coriander leaves in a kadai and boiled it in a cup full of water on a low flame and when it is done. Let it cool . Transfer the whole content into a jar and mix it well...

Once it is done. Divide it into small portion and give them a shape(here I have given diamond shape) and fry it in oil... Serve hot... It tastes good when it is taken hot... U can use it has starters or side dish for meals .. let's move on to the recipe. 

PREPARATION TIME.  : 20 MINS 

COOKING TIME             : 5 MINS

TOTAL                              : 25 MINS


INGREDIENTS 

  • 150 gm boneless mutton (without fat) 
  • 75 gm chana dal/chickpea lentils 
  • 1 Big onion
  • 1 small piece of coconut
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder 
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 
  • 1/2tsp garam masala 
  • 4 cloves of garlic 
  • Coriander leaves a little bit
  • Salt to taste. 
  • 2 egg

METHOD 


Take a pot to add mutton (cut into small pieces), chana dal, onion chopped, coconut (sliced), red chilli powder,  turmeric powder, garam masala, garlic cloves, coriander leaves, salt and water (1 full cup) ...


Let it boil for 10 to 15 mins on low flame


Once it is done, switch off the stove and (the content should be dry without water)... Cool it for 5 mins


After it is cooled enough, mix it in a jar


Content must be smooth (don't add water while mixing in a jar.)




Take a small portion of it and start making shapes. I have taken 2 boiled egg and covered it with Shami kabab thick batter and I also shaped some of it  in a diamond shape 




                           Deep fry it


Serve hot...
